This is a book which certainly lives up to its name. There is a 60 page section of profiles of the great boxers. That is followed by longer profiles of 12 legends of the ring. A chapter called the great fights describes 25 of the greatest fights ever from 1892 to the present day.
The book also has sections on trainers, promoters, great boxing arenas, the administration, rules and conventions of boxing. There is a comprehensive list of world champions and their fights at all weights as well as a chronology of boxing
