If I had to choose between my wife and my putter... well, I’d miss her.

Change

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever Hebrews 13:8

I have just read a fascinating book on the English Premier League which sets out how its formation 20 years ago has totally changed the nature of professional football – sponsorship, amount and nature of TV coverage etc.

Look at the 2012 Olympics and see again how much the Olympics have changed and developed. The Paralympics even more so. Twenty years ago admission was free as it was thought no one would pay to watch paralympic sports. London 2012 Paralympics were a sell-out.

Within our own sporting lives there is so much change. Champion to ex-champion, fit to injured, club to club, coach to new coach, contract to no contract. Then there is the end of the career which looms in the background – or foreground! Change is inevitable and not always for the best.

The writer to the Hebrews says: I understand that all around you is changing. The good news is that I can tell you of one thing or one person that is not changing – Jesus. What an encouragement to know that Jesus Christ is the same as always and will be forever. Whatever is happening in your life Jesus is there.
