"I love the sense of satisfaction that I get when I’ve done a swimming workout or race, and know that I gave my whole being and heart to God in every moment of the swim. It’s the best worship I can offer him."
Más que Vencedores
“Más que Vencedores” is now 2 years old! We praise God for His constant care and daily provision. We marked the occasion by having our new younger members around for a “merienda” mid-April, offering them an afternoon of banana smoothies, party games (pass-the-parcel and musical chairs), English “Hangman” and finally, certificates welcoming them to the group and a quick talk on what we consider to be the most important values of “+qV”. We pray that their current enthusiasm would continue as the days become shorter and the cold and wind make their permanent stay, and that we would have opportunities to demonstrate in words and actions the greatness of God’s love for them.
"Más que Vencedores" (More than Conquerors, after Romans 8.37) is an athletics team in the remote village of Cachi, Salta province, north-west Argentina. We aim to introduce children and teenagers to the sport, especially the disciplines of running and race-walking, thus encouraging them to be active, disciplined and set themselves goals. We aim to get alongside our young athletes and offer them support both on and off the track, sowing seeds of love which we pray that one day will result in their understanding of who Christ is and who they are in Him. The athlete-coach relationship provides opportunities to share our lives and get alongside our athletes in moments of victory and defeat, strength and weakness, that sport so often brings to light.

We are now heading into our third year of activities, which are now endorsed by the town council. At the same time, we also incorporate into our project outreach and hospitality to visiting athletes that spend between 3 and 6 weeks training at altitude. We have hosted several runners and triathletes in our home, and even invested in an extension to accommodate for the increasing demand both from professionals and amateurs. As with our young athletes, we aim to get alongside our visitors as much as possible, sharing life and what the Lord has done for us.
