“Knowing Christ is the best thing that has ever happened to me, although winning the US Open was a pretty good second.”
Psalm 103 Part 1
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalm 103:2In the midst of our busy lives let us try to stop for a moment and focus on God using Psalm 103. The Psalm is in three parts with the Psalmist challenging himself not to forget all God’s benefits. His list is:
Forgiveness
Redemption
Love
Compassion
Satisfaction
Renewal
That list does not do justice to his poetic descriptions
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103: 3-5
What would your list be?
This is a short meditation this week so take a moment to make your own list of what God has done for you, be thankful and express your praise.
I have written nothing explicitly about sport this week but in a way it is all about sport as that is our world.
