"Football is not a matter of life and death, it is more important than that."

Bill Shankly, Liverpool Football manager

Marathon 2012

Stuart was at the London Marathon, as accredited media. Hear his report on Planet Sport at Programme 156 of 25 April.

He was able to talk to the 2011 World Marathon Champion, Edna Kiplagat, who told him: “I am a Christian and I always have faith in God. When I trust in the Lord everything is possible. Everything I do I depend on God I pray to Him to give me strength and hope.” Edna finished second in the women's race.

Stuart was also able to interview South African wheelchair marathon racer, Ernst van Dyk, nine times winner of the Boston marathon but not a fan of the London course with its tight bends.
