Bradley Wiggins and Jess Ennis were the main award winners at the 2012 Sports Journalists' Awards lunch.

Sports Team of the Year: Europe Ryder Cup (Golf)
Paralympic sport (men): David Weir (Wheelchair Athletics)
Paralympic sport (women): Sarah Storey (Cycling)
Best International Newcomer: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Football)
Outstanding Performance: Jessica Ennis (Athletics)
Outstanding Contribution to Sport: Lord Coe
Spirit of Sport: Jonnie Peacock (Paralympian)
President’s Award: Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins (Rowing)
Chairman’s Award: Jonny Marray (Tennis)


Over 600 sports writers and people from the world of sport attended the December event at the Tower of London.

Stuart was at the same table as Bill Elliot, who wrote Bernhard Langer's first autobiography. Stuart wrote the second one!

Seb Coe received a special award and took the opportunity to thank journalists for their coverage of the Olympics


Stuart was able to catch up with Solheim Cup captain, Alison Nicholas


SJA President, Michael Parkinson was as delighted as everyone else with the SJA members' choice of Jess Ennis.
