"It matters a great deal who is going to win, but not at all who won"

Willie John McBride, Irish Rugby player

Kaka - a reflection

With ironic timing Kaka announced during the 2014 World Cup that he would be leaving AC Milan to play for Sao Paulo for three months before joining the new Major League Soccer club Orlando City in January 2015.

In his first spell with AC Milan (2003-9) Kaka helped the club win a Serie A title and the Champions League and he himself won the World Player of the Year Title in 2007.

In 2009 he moved to Real Madrid but the move was a limited success with injuries and changes of coach making him struggle to hold down a regular first-team place. I had the privilege of interviewing Kaka twice for Athletes in Action DVD projects. I was most impressed with his Christian integrity and thoughtful answers.
